All students, staff and the community are best served when the Board and administration:
- Listen and respect the opinions of each other through honest and open dialogue.
- Focus upon solutions to issues, rather than blame individuals.
- Plan, learn, and work as a team.
- Keep each other informed on issues and educational developments.
- Are prepared for every meeting.
- Represent the school district in a positive way.
- Respect the unique but separate roles of board and administration
Standards - Norms
of Behavior
- Analyze student achievement trends on the following on a monthly basis.
- Solicit input from business partners regarding workforce needs and expectations
- Include building administrators, building teacher leaders, and department
directors when appropriate in order to build rapport and sense of “team”
- Recognize student and staff successes at Board meetings
- Plan Board learning for each meeting - Board member identified
- Conduct yearly building visits
- Schedule 2 Board retreats per year
- Debrief after each school visit at next work session
