Project: Blueprint for Success Site: Prairie Schools Sheet Number: 11 Community involvement is critical to our students' educational success. Many parent groups make a positive impact at Prairie schools everyday. The three elementary schools all have active PTO groups and the middle school has PATT (Parents and Teachers Together) that hold regular meetings to increase parental involvement. The high school has many parent groups that support specific programs such as the Prairie Music Parents and the Prairie Booster Club. Many parents contribute their time and talents to better the educational experience for their children and other students. Numerous volunteer parent and community groups contribute to the entire district including the Parent and Community Network, the Quality Council and the Prairie School Foundation as well as the Board of Education. Lastly, when needed, community volunteers step forward to lead the charge on bond issues and other ballot measures. |

Many communities have implemented uniform building codes to ensure quality construction, similarly College Community strives to ensure quality for all student groups. As we discussed earlier regarding reading, one of our goals is to reduce the discrepancies in the proficiency rates for students of varying gender, race, socioeconomic and academic levels. The charts below illustrate the effect sex and socioeconomic status have on a student's proficiency in math-our goal is to reduce these discrepancies. 4th Grade Breakdowns by Gender/Free and Reduced Lunch
