Prairie Hill All School Picnic

Prairie Hill Families –

Our “All School Picnic” is June 2nd!  It is an all school sack lunch day (outside – weather permitting).  To help us better prepare, we need to know if your student needs the school to provide a sack lunch, or if your student will bring a lunch from home.

Forms were sent home with students on May 8th and must be returned by tomorrow, May 13th.   If you no longer have the form, click here for the form:  Picnic Form.  Please complete and return the form to school tomorrow.

Thank you!

Prairie Hill Run/Walk Challenge

Actually, we did it Prairie Hill style!  We went over the hill and beyond with donations exceeding $7500!  Thank you to all who helped with donations, pledges and company matching forms for our Prairie Hill Run/Walk Challenge.  100% of this money stays at Prairie Hill to help with the needs of our students and staff!

To celebrate reaching our goals, we have a couple fun days planned for next week.  Tuesday, May 5th will be Hat Day and Wednesday, May 6th will be Pajama Day.  All students will also receive an additional recess next week.

Transportation for Open Enrolled Students

College Community Night at the Kernels

Monday, May 11th will be College Community Night at the Kernels. The Kernels vs Peoria game starts at 6:35 pm, gates open at 5:30.  In addition to purchasing club seating tickets for only $8 per person, it is a “Mark Down Monday” with several concession items selling at a reduced price.

Check out Prairie students and staff involvement by performing the National Anthem, presenting the American Flag, high-fiving the Kernels as they take the field and more.

Enjoy a night of family fun at the Kernels! Fill the stands with orange and black!

Prairie Hill Challenge Run / Walk

What is the Prairie Hill Challenge Run/Walk?

Our final fundraiser for the 2014-15 school year where 100% of the proceeds stay at Prairie Hill!  Cash, pledges, donations and company matching forms are accepted to help with PTO expenses.

April 30th is the day and all Hill students will participate.  AM preschool and AK will attend a morning session and PM preschool through 4th grade will attend in the afternoon.  Fun obstacles will be involved.

Our goal is to raise $6,000 and we have 3 incentives.

  • $2K is hat day
  • $4K is pajama day
  • $6K is an extra recess for each grade
  • $6K AND 50% participation (this even includes empty packets returned) we will have ice cream for everyone.

Prairie Hill Challenge Run/Walk donation packets will go home with all students today.  Important dates to remember:

  • April 10-27 – Fundraiser collection dates
  • April 27 – Donation packets must be turned in (even empty ones)
  • April 30 – Challenge Run/Walk Day

We would like to take the time to say thank you to all who have helped our Prairie Hill PTO this year.  There was great pride in combining the four schools into forming our own path.  Together, we have had a fun and successful year and we couldn’t have done it without all of you, so THANK YOU!

Please remember that the underlying purpose of this fundraiser is to raise money for our school.  We receive many requests to help our students and staff and with this being our first year, we want to ensure we have a strong foundation for years to come.  Our monetary goal of $6,000 requires each of us to participate to the greatest extent possible given our unique financial situations.  Your generous donations will be greatly appreciated by the entire Prairie Hill family.

Prairie Hill Book Fair

The Scholastic Book Fair is this week, March 9-13.  We will be open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8am-4pm and on Wednesday and Thursday from 8am-8pm.  This is not a buy one/get one fair, but it is a great way to support our library in our first year, as we get almost 70% of all the profits!  You can also purchase online by clicking here.  Online sales will be open through March 19.  The books will ship to Prairie Hill within 3-5 days, and we still receive the same profit.  Thanks in advance for all of your support!
