Congratulations to Prairie High School senior Beth Uthoff who is a finalist for the annual United Way Volunteer Awards. Beth was selected as a finalist under the ‘youth category’ because of her many years of volunteer work in our school and community.
Beth is involved in PHS Key Club, Monroe Hustlers 4-H Group, Shueyville United Methodist Church, PHS National Honor Society, Mentor at Prairie Creek Intermediate, Wrestling Stats Manager and is a participant on the tennis and cross country teams. Beth is also a 2017 Norman Borlaug Scholar for the State of Iowa.
As an officer for PHS Key Club, Beth has helped lead over 100 members in volunteer service in our schools and community and is the driving force behind Key Club participating in the Thirst Project, a global organization building clean water wells across the world. She is spearheading fund raising efforts to build a well in Swaziland, Africa with a goal of reaching $12,000, ($5,000 already raised). Beth has been instrumental in making Key Club look at global issues and be part of the solution.
