Prairie High School junior Shelby Dubishar was elected Key Club International Lt. Governor for Area 7 at the recent district conference. Shelby will be the liaison between the NE-IA District Key Club Board and individual Key Club’s at Prairie, Linn-Mar, Kennedy, Xavier, Newton and Sigourney High Schools.
This is Shelby’s second year of PHS Key Club participation and last year was awarded the Sophomore Key Club award because her high level of volunteer service. PHS Key Club was established in the fall of 2011 and is a student-led organization promoting volunteer service. Since its inception, PHS Key Club members have volunteered over 12,700 hours to our schools and surrounding community. Shelby is the first PHS Key Club member to serve at the district level.
