Community and Career Steering Committee Meets to Discuss Career Pathway Opportunities for Students

Members of the Community and Career Steering Committee met for the fourth time this school year on May 8 in the district boardroom. The purpose of the Community and Career Steering Committee is increase student community and career experiences in order to prepare students for post-secondary success.

The May 8 meeting focused on personalized experiences and career pathway opportunities for students in 7th-12th grades.  The committee also reviewed and updated the Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) and how it fits in our current District Strategic Plan, determined next steps in the development of CCSD career pathways and post secondary readiness expectations, and brainstormed potential areas of focus for the 19-20 Community & Career Steering Committee and Focus 4 in our Strategic Plan. Focus 4 is the District’s commitment to partner with parents and our larger community to provide supports, opportunities and learning experiences to maximize student success.
