Kylee Hayes, who has served as the Instructional Coach for Prairie Crest Elementary School for four years, has been selected as the next building principal at Crest pending Board approval. Hayes will begin her new role starting July 1, 2019.
“I am truly excited to welcome Kylee to our leadership team,” said Dr. Doug Wheeler, Superintendent of Schools. “Kylee has demonstrated her leadership and qualifications for this position through her proven success as a teacher and teacher leader in our District. Kylee is a thoughtful student-focused leader who will do a fantastic job leading our staff in support of Crest students.”
As the Instructional Coach, Hayes has facilitated and supported professional learning opportunities connected to the District’s strategic plan, created building schedules, developed building-wide goals, and implemented professional learning experiences around Effective Classroom Practices. During her tenure at Crest, Hayes has also served on a variety of building and district committees.
Prior to coming to Prairie she taught 4th grade for Liberty Public Schools in Liberty, Missouri.

Hayes earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Iowa.
