Honor Flight Letters for Veterans

Prairie High School Key Club Members and PHS junior American Government students participated in writing letters for local veterans to receive when they attend an Honor Flight.

Honor Flights give local veterans the opportunity to visit the memorials in Washington DC in their honor.  It is a charter flight out in the morning and they return the same day.  On their return flight, the veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars receive letters written by local citizens thanking them for their service.

Since 2009, they have sent more than 2,300 veterans to Washington D.C. to see memorials made in their honor. Prairie is proud to be among this list of letter writing to show our gratitude to these heroes.
