Prairie Performance 2019-2020 – Unified Strength Program

The Prairie Booster Club is proud to continue to sponsor the Prairie Performance training program free of charge to all current 9th-12th grade athletes for the 2019-2020 school year.  Prairie Performance is the unified strength and conditioning program of Prairie HS Athletics.  Prairie High School coaches and PE staff work in collaboration with Performance Therapies to implement this elite, year-round training process.  The mission is to engage kids in a continuous process of personal growth, improvement of athletic performance, and minimization of injury. 

Strength training begins Monday, August 26th at 4:00 PM in the PHS weight room.  Strength training continues throughout the school year on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.

Agility training begins Tuesday, October 1st at 6:30 AM in the HS south gym.  Agility training session continues Tuesday, Thursday for a six week period preceding the beginning of the winter athletic season.  Three six week sessions will be offered throughout the school year, each preceding the start of the winter, spring, and summer athletic seasons . Prairie Performance will…

1.  Create a TEAM training atmosphere that is built on positive relationships between athletes, coaches, and the community designed to foster personal growth in all of our kids!

2. Increase athletic participation by developing universal training language and practices for all athletes in all sports. Therefore, giving student-athletes confidence that they are being prepared for all athletic opportunities and not specifically trained for one sport. 

3.  Improve the performance of all athletes and teams by working together to implement common practices for year-round preparation in the areas of strength, speed and flexibility.

4.  Minimize the risk of athletic injuries by teaching and implementing proper training techniques and processes in all phases of preparation and performance, in and out-of-season.
