Come Read at Prairie!

“America Reads – Reading is Contagious” is a challenge to improve literacy in elementary and intermediate school age children.  We all know how important reading is in a child’s education and a great way to model reading is being a guest reader on America Reads day!

America Reads will be observed at all five Prairie elementary buildings and Prairie Creek Intermediate on Friday, October 18th.  This will be a fun day featuring guest readers sharing their favorite books with our students.  Last year we welcomed 780 special reading guests on our campus to celebrate the sharing of reading.

Please consider joining us as a guest reader! If you have elementary or intermediate aged children and want to read in their classrooms, please contact your child’s teacher for their schedule.  If you don’t have a connection to a particular classroom, we will find a place for you. Contact our District Volunteer Coordinator, Kathy Waychoff, at 848-5224 or by email at kwaychoff@crprairie.org to sign up.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the students at Prairie schools!
