I wanted to take a moment to thank our students, staff, families and communities for their recent support of the $54M bond referendum. This is truly an exciting day for our current and future students. Achieving nearly 85% of voters saying “YES” for this project is overwhelming and a testament to the great support College Community Schools has and continues to have from the communities we serve.
We will begin the planning process immediately for the construction of a new intermediate building for our 5th and 6th grade students with a goal to complete this project within 3 years, then begin work to renovate the current Creek building to house our 9th grade center and Prairie Delta. We do not take this level of support lightly and will continue to be transparent and fiscally responsible as we accomplish these projects in response to this referendum. I look forward to sharing project highlights as they develop in the coming years.
A special thank you goes to the current and past members of the district facilities advisory committee whose work culminated in the development of the 10-year site master plan which generated the purpose and vision for both recent bond referendum projects.
Again, the big winners of this referendum are our current and future students! On behalf of our students, thank you for your support and trust.
