College Community Schools is pleased to announce that Lindsay Young has been named Associate Principal at Prairie Creek Intermediate School pending Board approval.
Young comes to Prairie from Roosevelt Creative Corridor Business Academy (formally Roosevelt Middle School) where she spent 14 years serving in a variety of roles. Her first 9 years at Roosevelt she taught 7th and 8th grade social studies and Language Arts and served as one of the lead teachers in the Option (Project Based Learning) Program. In addition, she served as an Induction Coach for Grant Wood AEA. Her last four years she served as the Magnet Coordinator and Building Facilitator providing supports for teachers and administrators around instructional best practices and integration of cultural responsiveness. She also facilitated and led professional learning opportunities to support district and building initiatives.
“Ms. Young brings unique experiences as a magnet school coordinator,” said Prairie Creek Intermediate School Building Principal Jen McDonnell. “She had many opportunities to lead innovative initiatives and those experiences will help support Creek’s current work to meet the needs of all learners. She will be an asset to build our community partnerships and parental involvement.”
Young, a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, her Master’s degrees from Western Governors University and her Administrative Licensure from the University of Northern Iowa.

I am passionate about ensuring quality equity and innovative practices for all learners and I am thrilled to be joining a school where student-centered educators work to provide success for all.”
