Thank you for your continued patience as we develop the full details of our Return to Learn plan for the fall. We are in the process of analyzing the feedback from our parent survey in addition to guidance from Linn County Public Health and current public health trends in order to determine our priorities for returning to school. We will release specific details of our plan on July 21.
The pandemic has caused many unforeseen challenges and our priority is to provide a safe and healthy learning environment. We are committed to offering our students and families with options that meet their individualized circumstances and needs.
While our priority is to return to traditional on-site instruction at our schools, we are also planning to offer remote learning from home for families and students in situations where it is needed. Certainly parents still have the option of homeschooling if they feel this is best, but we are confident that we will have programming options in place to meet the needs of our students.
Regarding registration, we encourage families to register their child as they normally do each year. On July 21, we will share further guidance regarding the details of the available options. The first phase of our plan, which was submitted to the Iowa Department of Education on July 1, is available on our district website at this link.
If you have not yet completed the parent survey, the closure date is July 15. We appreciate your feedback.
