Geilenfeld Named Associate Principal at Prairie High School
Prairie High School has a new member of its leadership team. Charles “Chuckie” Geilenfeld has been named the new Associate Principal at Prairie High School pending Board approval.
“We are thrilled to have Mr. Geilenfeld join our high school administrative team,” said Prairie High School Principal Karla Thies. “He brings many strengths to the leadership team including his passion for the trades. His voice in building career pathways and his can do attitude will be of great benefit to our students.”
Geilenfeld comes to Prairie High School from Christ the King School in Des Moines where he served as the PK-8 building principal. Prior to Christ the King School, Geilenfeld taught Industrial Arts for 15 years for the Carlisle, Urbandale and Des Moines school districts. Geilenfeld, a native of Oelwein, earned his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Drake University and his Superintendent’s Licensure from the University of Northern Iowa.
“I am very excited to be a Prairie Hawk and join the team at Prairie High School,” said Geilenfeld. “It is evident on all levels the staff, administration and the community is committed to enhancing learning opportunities for all students. I look forward to getting to know our students, staff and families in the weeks to come and build on the success and tradition that has already been established. I look forward to being a part of this community.”
