Prairie Activities Registration Website Open for 2020-21 Athletics

Prairie Activities Registration Website Open for 2020-21 Athletics

The Athletic Registration Website is now accepting registrations for 2020-21 athletics for athletes participating in all IHSAA and IGHSAU sponsored sports, as well as Cheer and Dance, for grades 7 through 12.  Athletic registration is no longer linked with online student registration.

This streamlined process will allow parents to register their athlete for athletics in the current school year, upload physicals, enter medical and emergency information for coaches at any time during the school year.  This paperless process will streamline the process between parents, the Activities Office and coaches getting students on the field practicing sooner.

This will be the only method for athletic registration for the 2020-21 school year.  Once you register the first time, you will then sign in each subsequent year, register for that year’s sports, update your information as well as electronically sign all yearly forms.

While we are unsure of how athletic seasons will look in 2020-21, please still register your student athlete(s).  We will keep you posted as we navigate through this pandemic.

Fall Cheerleading Tryouts Update – Current 8th & 9th Graders

We plan to wait another week or two before we make a decision regarding tryouts.  We are hopeful that we will be able to have live tryouts in May. The interview portion may be done via google hangout meets during our time off.  If that is the case, we will email you as soon as we know.

Also, if you did not have a chance to email your teachers and ask them to do a teacher recommendation form, (see link for form)  Please forward it to your teacher and ask them to email it to lpleiness@crprairie.org

If you have not been receiving email updates or did not sign up but would like to tryout, please contact lpleiness@crprairie.org.

Attention 8th & 9th Graders Planning to Go Out for Softball

Any current 8th or 9th grader that has not signed up for Softball yet, should sign up through our Activity Registration site (https://prairie-ar.rschooltoday.com/).  8th graders should choose the 9-12 option for softball.

Due to the cancellation of school by Governor Reynolds, the softball season has been suspended.

Adjustments are being made to the 2020 softball season dates and will be released following a review of the CDC, IDPH and State of Iowa information on June 1.

Point Items Pick Up Dates/Times

Hello Prairie Point students and families,

With the extended time away from the building not known prior to our departure to spring break, not all students were able to take items home from the building. We would like students to have access to their chromebooks and their band instruments to continue to practice skills. We will have school staff available to assist and provide access to these school items next week on the following dates and times:

Monday 3/23/20 :  from 10-am -12pm and from 4-6 pm

Tuesday 3/24/20:  from 10am -12pm and from 4-6pm

Medication Pick up if Needed: If you are needing to pick up medication from the Nurse’s office please plan to come in at the above mentioned times. If you plan to come in, please email our school nurse, Colleen Elliott, at celliott@crprairie.org. She can have the medicine readied for you and paperwork started for the return. If you do not need the medication at home you may leave it at school, you would not need to come in and pick it up.

Prior to spring break we had asked the students to please remove their gym locks and clear out their gym locker for routine cleaning (we do this every spring break). There are about 100 locks still on lockers. We will be disinfecting the locker rooms and will have to cut locks if these are not removed by Tuesday evening.

Communication will be coming next week with more information about the extended time away and school plans. For now, enjoy the rest of spring break and stay safe/healthy!

If you have any needs or questions during this time, please reach out to me. I will assist the best I can.

Take care,

Kyle Koeppen

Principal
