Washington D.C. Meeting Postponed
Wanted to provide you an update regarding the upcoming Washington DC trip. Due to the recent news involving information regarding the COVID-19 virus, we are postponing the Washington D.C. parent meeting for tonight, Monday March 9th.
We are currently working with all involved parties, including Worldstrides Travel Agency to discuss the March 25-29 trip. We are currently discussing possible alternatives and solutions regarding the recent outbreak of the virus.
We will provide updated information by Wednesday, March 11th. Again, tonight’s meeting has been postponed. Please watch for additional information.

This year you will have the opportunity to purchase your 2019-2020 Memory Book online! What an easy way to quickly reserve your copy today! The reduced price will be $20 until March 31, and then it will increase to $25.

Prairie is cancelling all home events and will not be traveling to any away events on Friday, January 10th and Saturday, January 11th.
There will be no practices after school today (1/10) and no practices/activities on Saturday, January 11th.
If you are in need of gas, please consider purchasing it at they Hy Vee Gas Station at 2300 Bowling Street (across from the Wilson Ave. Hy Vee). Hy Vee gas is donating $0.02 for every gallon of gas purchased on PUMP 20 to Prairie Point.
7th & 8th Grade Wrestling will have a meeting for students planning to go out for wrestling during homeroom on Thursday, January 9th.
The first day of practice is after school January 23, 2020.

Youth Wrestling Night 2019
Thursday, December 5th
Purpose: Recognize and celebrate all members of the Hammerin’ Hawks Wrestling Club and Prairie Point Middle School Team
When: Wrestling begins at 6:15 PM Arrive no later than 6:45 PM
Where: At the conclusion of the JV matches meet in the new high school cafeteria
What: Hammerin’ Hawks: Wear your HHWC sponsor t-shirt
Point: Wear anything Prairie
1. The whole group will be introduced in front of the home crowd.
- Following the recognition all wrestlers will go to the northeast corner of the gym to form a tunnel for the entrance of the varsity team.
- Wrestlers may then return to their families.
**Hammerin’ Hawk and Point Wrestlers and Coaches Receive Free Admission**
7th & 8th Grade girls basketball will start practice on December 2, 2019. The game schedule can be found here. There will be a player meeting on November 20th during homeroom in the cafeteria. If a student is interested in playing and has not yet signed up, students should sign up here.
A current physical must be on file at Prairie Point with clearance for participating and signed by a physician, signed medical consent form and concussion form are required to participate in sports. Physicals are good for 12 months from the date of the physical plus a 30-day grace period.
Attention all 9th grade Prairie students not currently active in a fall sport. The fall agility training session begins Tuesday, October 1st. This training is free and all 9th graders are welcome.
Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30AM – 7:30 AM in the high school south gym. The final session is Thursday, November 7th. This training is designed to help prepare athletes for their winter sports season or other upcoming seasons.
A shuttle from the high school to Point each morning of agility training will be provided.
