Counseling Service

Janis Bailey is the Prairie Crest school counselor. The school counseling program is for all students, supporting them through three domains: personal/social, academic, and career. The school counselor provides direct service to students through classroom lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling. Ms. Bailey coordinates programs to promote a positive school climate, including the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, Crest Cares food pantry, new student groups, Character Counts, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and holiday adopt-a-family program. The school counselor supports student academic success through involvement with the Instructional Decision Making process (IDM) and district-wide testing (ITBS & MAP).
