Karen Ommen (9-12)

Karen Ommen teaches one of the two high school classes. As of March 5, 2001, KarenÍs class has 5 students but that could change at anytime. Some of her students are integrated at the high school for one or more classes. The others are with Karen 100% of their time.

Karen teaches reading, math, language arts, social studies, science, and PE. Reading is based on the student needs, math is teaching general concepts, language arts focuses on life skills and job skills, social studies is U.S. history, and science is based on a life science book. There is a lot of rewarding for positive behaviors and actions in the classroom. The class spends a great deal of time focusing on life after high school and out of treatment.
