LANGUAGE ARTS 6-7-8
The language arts curriculum provides the vital tools for communication in our society and an important means of developing thinking skills. The curriculum focuses on oral and written communication skills, reading, grammar, literature and spelling. Every effort is made in interdisciplinary teaming to ensure writing in all content areas. It is our goal that students will develop skills to provide them readiness for high school and become successful communicators in all areas.

MATHEMATICS 6-7-8
Mathematics in the middle school is a program where problem solving in emphasized in all grades. Students need to see mathematics as a place of reasoning that enables them to attack problems in increasing difficulty and complexity. Our focus is on mathematics for every day life which leads us to many unique and important mathematical topics, and how they relate to other school subjects.

SOCIAL STUDIES 6-7-8
Through the use of discovery and research skills, the social studies program includes different topics of study in each grade level. The culture and geography of the Eastern Hemisphere is the focus in 6th grade. Students study the culture and geography of the Eastern Hemisphere and Europe in the 7th grade. The study of the Epic of America, concentrating on the exploration period through the Civil War, is studied in the 8th grade.

SCIENCE 6-7-8
Middle school science involves students working in a cooperative setting to use process skills that are continually being developed. The content focus is delivered through laboratory activities, projects, discussions, and independent long range projects. Content areas include Earth, Life, and Physical Science. An emphasis is placed on hands-on / minds-on learning using a variety of technological tools.
