What do we do at group?

While in group, students are either building skills that are necessary for the lesson, practicing the skill that is in the lesson, or being challenged if the lesson is easier then their abilities. Groups meet for 15 minutes of instruction and are usually groups less than 9. In small groups, students are less afraid of asking questions when working with peer groups who are at the same skill level. Students also have the opportunity to feel like they can work one-on-one with the teacher when sitting close rather than standing up at the board. Questions can be answered quickly and groups don't leave until the concept is learned by all.
