Dear View Families,

Next week is Prairie’s homecoming and we are hosting our first school-wide celebration on Thursday, September 19th. It is a RAINBOW Day! Each grade level will wear a color to represent the rainbow. Wear your grade level color PLUS Crazy socks!

K- Blue

1st – Green

2nd – Yellow

3rd – Red

Then on Friday students and staff can show their Prairie Pride and wear Prairie colors. We’ll show our school spirit while watching the 2019 Homecoming Parade.

Celebrating National Dog Day with View’s very own ASPEN! Day 3 of 180 ViewCanDo!

Aspen is our Certified Assistance Dog who has been trained to work as a professional therapy dog. She is a 4-year-old Labrador retriever. Aspen was trained by CARES Inc. in Concordia, Kansas. She is Public Access certified which means she can go with Mrs. Neira in public places like stores and restaurants to provide assistance. Aspen and our school counselor Mrs. Neira work together at Prairie View as an assistance dog team. Aspen helps put smiles on the faces of Prairie View students and staff every day! When not at school Aspen can be found at home with Mrs. Neira and her family. In her free time, Aspen loves to play fetch and take naps on the couch!

Thanks a million to Aspen and Mrs. Neira for all of the special attention and joy you bring to us each and every day.

Day 2 of 180 What is PBIS? (Positive behavioral interventions and supports) #ViewCanDo!

Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. With PBISschools teach kids about behavior, just as they would teach about other subjects like reading or math. The focus of PBIS is prevention, not punishment.  Ask your child if they have received any Promise Keeper Notes for being a role model of View’s expectation.
